Citely — Terms of Service

Last updated: July 2, 2026

These terms govern your use of Citely (“the app”, “we”), a Shopify app that measures and helps improve how AI assistants find and recommend your store. By installing or using Citely you agree to these terms.

The service

Citely provides an AI-readiness audit of your store and products, generates AI-discovery files (such as agents.md and llms.txt) from your catalog, and — on paid plans — queries third-party AI engines (such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude) to report whether they recommend your store, alongside competitor benchmarks and optional weekly email reports.

Subscriptions and billing

No guarantee of AI results

AI assistants and search engines are operated by third parties and decide their own answers. Citely measures your visibility and gives you best-practice improvements, but we do not and cannot guarantee that any AI engine will mention, recommend or rank your store, nor any specific traffic or revenue outcome. Reports reflect the engines’ responses at the time of the check and can change at any time.

Acceptable use

Your data

How we handle data is described in our Privacy Policy. When you uninstall Citely, your data is deleted as described there.

Disclaimer and liability

The app is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the app is limited to the amounts you paid us in the three months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for decisions of third-party platforms (including Shopify and AI engine providers).

Changes

We may update these terms as the service evolves; material changes will be reflected on this page with a new date. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
